Misc settings

Show checker for Png files

If you enable the checker, files which support transparency (png and gif) will have a black & white checker in the background so you can more easily see transparent areas.

Zoom reset

When this checkbox is checked the zoom level and the pan position will be reset each time you change the currently selected image.

Allow to send usage statistics

To keep improving PhotoInsigh quality in terms of stability and usability some anonymous statistics can be send to a server.

  • Crashes: sending crash information will definitely help make PhotoInsight more stable
  • Usage: knowing which features are most used, or which action takes too much time can help to focus on most important part of the application.

Delete to trash

When this checkbox is checked, when you delete a file in PhotoInsight it will be moved Windows trash instead of being permanently deleted.

Save metatada in original file

When this checkbox is checked, if you modify metadata (rating, author, title, comment, city, GPS coordinates, shot date…) it will be save in the Exif field (if the file has Exif) of the original file.

Thumbnail cache max size

To keep the photo wall as responsive as possible PhotoInsight keeps a collection of thumbnails on disk.
Here you can easily:

  • see the maximum size allowed
  • see the current disk space used
  • Change the maximum allowed size

Thumbnail quality

You can select a thumbnail size among these possible values:

  • 128 pixels
  • 256 pixels
  • 512 pixels
  • 1024 pixels
  • 2048 pixels
Info
By default 512 px is selected, changing this value will affect the application responsiveness, the cache size and of course the thumbnail quality.
